WOOD PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL

Welcome to First Grade at Wood Park! This year students will gain the tools and skills necessary to help them become lifelong learners as they grow academically, emotionally, socially, and physically. At Wood Park, first graders start off the year reviewing concepts learned in kindergarten, while acclimating to the routines, procedures and increased expectations of the first grade classroom. Becoming more independent, organized as well as being able to work cooperatively with others is important in our classroom. Students are encouraged to think critically and take risks in a classroom environment that is welcoming, structured and fun!  

There are so many new and exciting things about first grade. It’s truly an amazing year in which every child is encouraged to do his/her best!
